Via their effort, the product development technology has exceeded other countries. However, Ms. Ying-Ying Lai, an officer of Environmental Protection Administration, indicated that at present the Environmental Protection Administration does not specifically choose PLA. The Environmental Protection Administration will soon impel the second stage of the plastic restriction policy, including Styrofoam trays, PET/PVC egg boxes, transparent bakery product package made from OPS, etc. which are all in the limits of the policy. This enables biodegradable materials to be focal. At present, the Environmental Protection Administration is possibly planning to use biodegradable products instead of plastic trays, egg boxes and bakery product package in the supermarkets and shopping malls. In the future, the biodegradable materials industry will be more prosperous.
